Hamas backs call for peace conference with Israel (The Associated Press, 11/13/06)

The Palestinian foreign minister on Sunday agreed to an international peace conference with Israel, the first time the Hamas-led government has indicated that it would consider making amends with the Jewish state.

    Orrin, you’ve got more faith in Palestinian politicians than Jimmy Carter and Kofi Annan put together. What are the odds that yet another “peace conference” is going to produce anything? Heck, even the “peace agreements” have produced next to nothing. You must know, of course, that one of the demands they’ll make is the “right of return” to Israel for millions of Palestinians, and that just ain’t gonna happen.

    You’re confused about negotiation. When two parties sit down the one has already lost. The negotiations don’t mean anything.
